Chiringuito Sylt

29th May 2014

What: My favourite chiringuito (Spanish for beach bar)  in Marbella. Sylt is a small and stylish place situated in between the dunes right on the best beach of Marbella (Las Chapas). It is in huge contrast with the big, popular, overcrowded other beach clubs you can find in Marbella. They have wifi now, so yes you can upload holiday pics.

Food: Great food for reasonable prices. Think: hamburgers, sushi, salads, gazpacho, wraps, sandwiches, tuna tartar, …

Atmosphere & design: The beach bar is designed by Javier Larrainzar, a well-known fashion designer in Spain. All built up in light wood in combination with white cushions. The atmosphere is casual and laidback, the way it should be on a day at the beach.

Insiders tip: Reserve your beach beds, eat a hamburger for lunch, drink gin tonic for apero and stay there till the sun goes down. Those who are in a sporty mood can ask Javier and Felix (the owners) if they can use the paddle boards. Some evenings Raul (3rd owner) organises a dj entertained evening on the beach all in ‘Ibiza Style’.

Price category: Beds on the beach cost you 10 euros. Dishes are between 10 and 20 euros (Salad: 11 / Hamburger: 13 / Sandwich: 11).
