Riad Mena & Beyond
11th June 2015
If travelling to Marrakech do sleep in a riad, as your experience is not the same if you don’t. In the middle of the Medina – yes, you’ll wake up early when the magical sound of call to prayer starts – I slept in the most splendid riad you can ever imagine. Owner Philomena, who travels between Paris and Marrakech *jealous*, chose to make only six bedrooms around the plant filled patio. Because of that every room gives you a true ballroom feeling, which is unique in a riad. She succeeded in mixing modern with traditional elements, and turned it into a wonderful hidden gem. So expect a lot of space, stunning rooms, a swimming pool and breezy terrace and delicious homemade breakfast. Ask Philomena for shopping and eating tips as her taste is – believe me! – impeccable. I am already counting the days to be able to visit her riad (or the guesthouse she has an hour outside of Marrakech in the countryside) again.
